Artist statement Novruz Mammadov (b. 1986, Salyan, Azerbaijan) graduate the faculty of Sculpture in Azerbaijan State Academy of Fine Arts in 2007, and in 2011 got the master degree. He is a participant of number exhibitions, symposiums both nationally and internationally. Since 2011 he is a member of Artists Union of Azerbaijan. Novruz works with different media, including sculpture, painting, graphic, installation, kinetic and digital art. The main core of his works is a big interest to the contemporary visualization of local identification motifs. His recent works is a kind of reference to mythology and religion in modern approach. He explores the depth of human nature through the psychological works’ series. Mammadov always plays with symbols which is direct link to significant events in chosen subject.
